Today the Banat Czechs sustain themselves with farming, albeit sparse given the difficult soil conditions. Cattle and sheep are also raised. The work is still primitive and very labor intensive. There are no tractors and very little technology which perpetuates the centuries-old ways. The trade-off, however, is completely fresh, natural, healthy and delicious food. next |
