On July 30, 1974, the House Judiciary Committee voted three articles of impeachment against President Nixon for blocking investigation of the Watergate affair and for not complying with the committee's subpoena for taped White House conversations. Nixon released the tapes on August 5, which revealed he impeded the Watergate investigation. |
